Dutch Oven Apple Apple Beer™ Cobbler by The King

Ingredients:
  • 2 cans of Apple pie filling
  • 1 white cake mix package (the kind you're supposed to add oil, water and eggs then bake)
  • 1 can/bottle of Apple Beer
Directions
Heat dutch oven to 350 degrees.
Empty pie filling into bottom of dutch oven evenly.
Pour cake mix (only the powder, not anything else) over the pie filling evenly. Do NOT stir.
Next, pour the Apple Beer on top of the cake mix. Try to get the Apple Beer to cover as much surface area as possible, but DO NOT STIR.
Cook the stuff for as long as it takes to make the golden brown top and not watery inside.
For an added kick, sprinkle miniature marshmallows on the top.
Serves 8-12.

  • 1 bottle apple beer
  • 2 scoops or 3 of lowfat frozen yogurt or regular vanilla ice cream

  • 1 cup of chopped cabbage (i use a little more than that)
  • Ice
  • you may add a small amount of ginger if you desire

Apple Beer™ BBQ'd Pork Chops by Charles Avent

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs 1" Butterflied Pork Chops
    Sauce:
  • 1-1/2 cups Canned Tomatoes drained (one 12 oz. can)
  • 1 Six Pack Apple Beer
  • 1/4 cup White Vinegar
  • 2 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Tbs Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 3 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 Pepperoncini Peppers finely chopped, with seeds
  • 1 Tbs Canola Oil
  • 1 Large Yellow Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbs Chopped Fresh Italian Parsley
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/8 tsp Thyme
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
Directions
Make sauce the day before or early in the day, so it will be chilled before using.
Place only 1/2 cup of Apple Beer and all of the other sauce ingredients in a blender. Not a food processor. Blend on medium for 3 minutes. While the sauce is blending, drink the rest of the can of Apple Beer.
Pour into a large sauce pan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly to prevent sticking. Take your #2 can of Apple Beer drink about half.
Reduce heat and simmer for at 45 minutes, stirring occaisionally, to combine flavors and thicken. While the sauce simmers, drink the other half of your #2 can of Apple Beer and start on #3.
Remove from heat and chill prior to use. Keeps well refridgerated. Keep it away from your Apple Beer in the refridgerator. It tends to take the chill off.
Cooking the chops:
Open your #4 can of Apple Beer and take a drink. Coat each chop thoroughly, both sides, with sauce. When the grill drops to medium heat, place chops over the heat to sear about 3 minutes each side. Take another sip of your #4 can of Apple Beer. When seared, coat with more sauce and turn. Cook over medium heat, 10 minutes on one side, then add more sauce and turn. Open can #5 of Apple Beer and take a few sips.Cook 10 minutes. Add more sauce and turn. Drink a little more Apple Beer. Cook additional 10 minutes. Guzzle down the rest of the can #5.
Serve with your Potato Salad, Baked Beans and can #6 of Apple Beer.
Sauce and drinking the Apple Beer go well with burgers, steak and ribs, too.
